Exploration geologist Karsten Berg founded in Santiago de Chile the company EXPLORABERG E.I.R.L. since 2004. Offering independant consulting and asociated prospective services. For mining, energy and industrial projects. See also Exploraberg comments in LinkedIn and Karsten_Berg in twitter.
Karsten Berg studied geology at Technical University of Berlin (1974-80). At the same university concluded 1982 with a doctor title in Earth Science, specialized in geochronology and magmagenesis. Afterwards realized a postdoc in Chile (1983) and a grant ‘Feodor Lynen’ from Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation (Universidad de Chile 1984-86).
Three discoveries in exploration are pointed out here, two metallic (Codelco-Chile, 1991-2004) and one non metallic (Exploraberg, 2008):
Gaby Sur Project (1996), since 2008 Mine Division Gabriela Mistral (5.5 MT-Cu).
Casualidad Project (2003), Altamira/Taltal district, since 2004 ’discovered’ and studied afterwards by EMSA-geologists (1.5 MT-Cu, first IOCG-discovery for Codelco).
Squaremeter big sapphire outcrop of sanddune-covered corundium-aluminium deposit (2008), IOCG-district Cerro Negro, North of Copiapó (scientific, but apparently not commercial interest).
